Urban design is more closely related to city planning than urban development. City planning focuses on the organization and development of urban areas, including land use, infrastructure, and public spaces, which are all key components of urban design. Urban development, on the other hand, typically refers to the physical construction and economic growth within urban areas, which is influenced by urban design and city planning decisions. Therefore, while urban design is related to both city planning and urban development, it is more aligned with the principles and goals of city planning. **

According to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), in 2020, the world produced around 2,799 terawatt-hours (TWh) of electricity from renewable sources. This accounted for around 29% of global electricity generation. The production of renewable energy has been steadily increasing each year as countries strive to reduce their carbon footprint and transition to cleaner energy sources. **

In 2034, sustainability means living in a way that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. It involves a holistic approach to environmental, social, and economic issues, aiming to create a balance between these three pillars. Sustainability in 2034 also involves embracing innovative technologies and practices to reduce carbon emissions, promote renewable energy sources, and protect biodiversity. It requires a collective effort from individuals, businesses, and governments to address global challenges such as climate change, resource depletion, and social inequality. **

In the year 2030, sustainability means living in a way that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. It involves a holistic approach to environmental, social, and economic well-being, with a focus on reducing carbon emissions, conserving natural resources, and promoting social equity. Sustainability in 2030 also encompasses the use of innovative technologies and practices to create a more circular economy, where waste is minimized, and resources are reused and recycled. Additionally, there is a greater emphasis on global collaboration and collective action to address pressing environmental and social challenges. **

In 2032, sustainability means creating a balance between meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. It involves integrating environmental, social, and economic considerations into decision-making processes to ensure long-term viability. This includes transitioning to renewable energy sources, reducing waste and pollution, promoting social equity, and fostering a circular economy. In 2032, sustainability is not just a goal, but a necessity for the survival and well-being of humanity and the planet. **

Geography influences urban development in several ways. The natural landscape, such as mountains, rivers, and coastlines, can shape the layout and expansion of cities. For example, cities may develop along rivers for access to water and transportation, or be constrained by mountains, leading to more compact development. Additionally, climate and natural resources can impact the types of industries and economic activities that thrive in a city, further shaping its development. Finally, the availability of land for expansion and the potential for natural disasters can also influence urban planning and development. **

Decentralization in urban development refers to the distribution of power, resources, and decision-making processes away from a central authority to local governments, communities, or individuals. This approach aims to empower local stakeholders to have more control over their own development, leading to more sustainable and inclusive urban growth. Decentralization can help improve efficiency, accountability, and responsiveness in urban planning and management by involving a wider range of actors in the decision-making process. Ultimately, decentralization in urban development can lead to more resilient and vibrant cities that better meet the diverse needs of their residents. **

Sustainable urban development is important for creating livable, resilient, and inclusive cities for current and future generations. Key factors for sustainable urban development include promoting compact and efficient land use, investing in public transportation and infrastructure, prioritizing green spaces and biodiversity, and implementing energy-efficient and environmentally friendly building practices. Additionally, community engagement and participation, social equity, and economic prosperity are crucial for creating sustainable urban environments. Finally, effective governance and collaboration between government, businesses, and civil society are essential for achieving sustainable urban development goals. **
